Blank page when using file uploads

Kindly help me out with this. I am using a form upload field ( tried both ways; database and file methods) to upload images. With the database method the image does not display, with the file method the I get a blank page. I followed the tutorial at http://xataface.com/documentation/how-t ... le-uploads but still could not get the image to show up.
