Poll: Are you still using PHP 4?

Postby shannah » Tue Aug 11, 2009 2:52 pm

I am ever so tempted to drop support for PHP 4 in upcoming releases of Xataface. Are you still using PHP 4? Please fill out this poll to help me figure out if there is a demand at all to keep PHP 4 support.

Perhaps this isn't the right place but since you are talking about enhancements I wanted to pass along a suggestion.

It would be nice if Xataface could work with unixtime. A field for example that would allow unixtime updates and inserts and then formatting them for reading.

In my own apps (non Xataface) I use unixtime all over the place. However with Xataface I am forced to use MySQL timestamp. Unixtime is ultra common and "stores" the date, time, day of week, etc plus one can use it for sorting and comparing a lot easier.

Hi Steve,

Many thanks for raising this subject. Basically I am using PHP 5 for all my applications and in principle would support your plans. I do however have an issue that would need to be resolved, and this has already been raised on the forum. Please see:-

Thanks,

Andrew.
